Getting Started

To successfully download the Geodatabase Toolset, you must have

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 for GDBT 9.2

To check for Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0, go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools. If you do not currently have Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0, or you have Version 1.1, you can download Version 2.0 to your system. Please note that both versions can exist on your system simultaneously.

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 for GDBT 9.1

To check for Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1, go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools. If you do not currently have Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1, or you have Version 2.0, you can download Version 1.1 to your system. Please note that both versions can exist on your system simultaneously.

ESRI .NET Support Feature for ArcGIS

To check for the ESRI .NET Support Feature for ArcGIS, navigate to the location on your hard drive where you installed ArcGIS Desktop and look for the DotNet folder. For example, go to C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DotNet. If you do not find the DotNet folder, follow the instructions below for installing the ESRI .NET Support Feature for ArcGIS.

To add the ESRI .NET Support Feature, you will need to access ArcGIS either on CD or via your network. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, select ArcGIS Desktop, and click Change.

When the message window appears, either insert the ArcGIS Desktop CD into your disk drive or browse to the source for ArcGIS Desktop on your network and click OK. When the ArcGIS Setup window appears, select Modify and click Next. Select .NET Support, click Next, and follow the instructions to install the ESRI .NET Support Feature for ArcGIS.

To use the Geodatabase Toolset, complete the following steps:

1. Uninstall any previous versions of Geodatabase Toolset before installing a newer version.
2. Select the version for download:
   GDBT for ArcGIS 9.2
   GDBT for ArcGIS 9.1
3. Unzip the contents of the .zip file.
4. Run the .exe file to install Geodatabase Toolset.
5. To use the Geodatabase Toolset dockable window in ArcMap, start ArcMap. You must turn on the Geodatabase Toolset add-on by selecting Tools > Extensions, checking the Geodatabase Toolset box, and clicking Close.
   Note: Click once, then wait a few seconds.
6. Toggle on the Geodatabase Toolset by either selecting View > Toolbars or right-clicking in the toolbars region near the top of ArcMap.
