Calgary is the third-largest city in Canada and the largest city in the province of Alberta. Calgary’s population reached 1 million people in 2007 and a booming economy has contributed to fast population growth. Experts forecast that by 2075 Calgary will have 1.6 million people, with an average annual growth rate of 2 percent to 4 percent.

Fueled by six of North Central Texas' fastest-growing cities, Collin County is one of the state's fastest-growing counties. The objective of this study was to use GIS to demonstrate a methodology for assessing the need for county redistricting. New residential construction data was obtained from the Central Appraisal District of Collin County.

Mount Vernon DistrictVoter Participation in the June 14, 2005, Primary Elections
For this project, the voter participation results of the June 14, 2005, Democratic and Republican primaries were mapped. This information was distributed in tabular format through Fairfax County's voting results Web site. Also available at the Web site were a countywide map and a map for each supervisory district.

Congressional DistrictsCongressional Districts of the 108th Congress—This template of the United States and territories was designed to facilitate quick turnaround of presentation-quality maps for the U.S. Congress and Congressional Research Service. Thematic layers, based on case-by-case congressional requests, can be easily integrated into this predesigned template.

Volume 19: GIS—The Language of Geography

Offical zoning mapsOfficial Zoning Map, City of Roswell, Georgia—The Roswell mayor and city council officially adopted this map on April 14, 2003. The official zoning map shows Roswell’s zoning boundaries. The colors represent different zoning categories used within the zoning ordinance of Roswell.
