  • Matt Morrison, Executive Director, Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER)
  • Julie Muzzarelli, Geospatial Analyst, Argonne National Laboratory

Protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure is as much an outcome of good analysis and planning as it is an exercise in physically securing assets. GIS provides functionality to accurately locate the physical location of critical assets as well as to identify and model potential risks and vulnerabilities associated with natural or man-made disasters. GIS can also model the effects of damage or loss of a critical infrastructure to the continuity of operations.

The ESRI Homeland Security Summit Critical Infrastructure Panel will explore the many facets surrounding interdependency, protection, and cooperation among community members. Members of the panel have the expertise to provide insight into the complexities involving critical infrastructure dependencies and interdependencies, tactics and strategies to mitigate and protect against threats and risks, and the public/private relationships required to sustain protection programs.

3:30 p.m.–4:00 p.m. Closing Remarks
