Workforce Development

  • Papers in this track will address establishing GIS programs within a health-related university, funding new academic health GIS programs, teaching GIS to future health professionals, and tracking workforce development.

The conference organizers will carefully review all papers for applicability to the use of GIS in the health and human services arena.

Authors will present in a 25- to 30-minute live presentation as part of a moderated session. Abstracts and papers will also be published as part of the conference proceedings.

Submission Guidelines

  • Your title may not exceed 10 words.
  • Your abstract cannot be longer than 150 words.
  • At no time is it permissible for a paper presenter to use his/her time slot to advertise or promote a product, service, or company.
  • Do not write in all CAPITAL LETTERS. Remember, the information you enter is used for publishing purposes (e.g., Web site, agenda, CD-ROM).
  • Paper submissions and presentations must be in English.
  • No bullet points or numbering should be used.

Submissions should include

  • Author/Presenter name(s)
  • Presentation title with brief abstract (as noted above)
  • Company name
  • Complete address, phone, and fax
  • Presenter biography

There is a limited number of presentation slots available. We cannot guarantee that all submissions will be accepted.

If your abstract is accepted, please list all authors and co-authors in the appropriate order on your PowerPoint presentation. This information is used for the conference proceedings.

Important Information
All papers and presentations must be noncommercial. Proceedings will be published on the event Web site. This year's committee will evaluate all abstracts and make selections based on topic, content, and time available. All authors will be notified after the selection process. A detailed program of presentations and events will be provided prior to the conference. Projector equipment will be provided. Please bring your laptop.

Note: If you are an authorized ESRI Business Partner, your abstact may be selected as part of the ESRI Business Partner Track.
